SA PAEDIATRICS AND NEWBORNS ( SAPAN)

Welcome to SA Paediatrics and Newborns, where we provide expert care for your child’s ear, nose, and throat health.

What is an ear, nose and throat surgeon?

An ear nose and throat (ENT) surgeon, also known as an otolaryngologist, is a medical specialist who deals with problems related to the ears, nose, and throat. They are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions that affect these areas and our team, Dr Himani Joshi and Dr Lauren Cooper, are experienced to help babies, children, and adolescents.

How do I know if my child might need to see an ENT surgeon?

Your child may need to see an ENT surgeon if they are experiencing any of the following issues:

  • Tonsils and adenoid problems
  • Laryngomalacia and Tracheomalacia
  • Nasal obstructions
  • Open mouth breathing
  • Snoring
  • Sleep apnoea
  • Ear infections and grommets
  • Hearing problems

Why is seeing an ear, nose and throat surgeon important?

Early diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, and throat problems can prevent further complications and improve your child’s overall health and wellbeing. Our dedicated ENT surgeons are experts in their field, and they will provide the necessary treatment and care to help your child recover and prevent any future issues.

What happens after the ENT appointment?

After your child’s appointment with one of our ENT surgeons, they will receive a tailored treatment plan that may include medications, procedures, or surgery, depending on their condition. Our team will guide you through the process and provide you with all the necessary information and support.

What if my child needs other therapies?

At SA Paediatrics and Newborns, we adopt a comprehensive approach to your child’s healthcare, employing a diverse team of allied health professionals who work together to create a personalised treatment strategy that caters to your child’s physical, emotional, and developmental well-being.

Depending on your child’s specific needs and progress, your ENT surgeon may recommend additional services as necessary.
