SA Paediatrics and Newborns (SAPAN) – Dr Dattatraya Lockhande
Dr Dattatraya Lokhande (Dr Datta) is a caring and experienced paediatrician who is passionate about supporting children and their families at every stage of development. He completed his paediatric training in Victoria, building a strong foundation in both clinical care and child development
Dr Datta has worked extensively in tertiary‑level children’s hospitals, including Liverpool Hospital, Sydney , Mildura Base Public Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital, where he served in Paediatrics and Neonatology. He has experience caring for premature babies in high‑level Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), as well as infants, children, and adolescents with complex and long‑term health needs.
He provides holistic, long‑term care, focusing not only on a child’s medical needs but also their emotional well-being, development, and family support. Dr Datta previously worked as a Consultant Paediatrician at Mildura Base Public Hospital and is currently undertaking additional training in Paediatric Neurology at Monash Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. His areas of care include:

Dr Datta is well known for his gentle, patient‑centred, and compassionate approach. He has a special interest in early life and family experiences, including perinatal and infant mental health, and supporting children who have experienced complex or intergenerational trauma. He works closely with families, schools, and other health professionals to ensure children receive coordinated, supportive care tailored to their individual needs.

DCH: Diploma in Child Health.
DNB: Diplomate of National Board (Paediatrics)
FRACP: Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Worked as an Adjunct Lecturer in Monash Rural Health University, Mildura.
